Tip drill Tuesday! Really. . .

I used to wait tables and worked my butt off just to earn a couple dollas! Now, as I get older I notice that everyone wants a tip and have not EARNED it! They just place a tip jar on the counter as your paying for your meal/dessert/snack and expect a tip for not having served you.  Sometimes I even have to make my own food and they just take my money. $$$$

I recently went into a frozen yogurt place that I have never tried.  I figured its my birthday! Let me celebrate!

Well I went in and before I could ask the employees how does Fro Yotopia work, I saw a sign. . . (aaahhhhhh). Well not like a sign from heaven but an actual sign that told me what I needed to to.  1. Grab a bowl. 2. Fill with yogurt of your choice. 3. Layer on your toppings. 4. Take to counter and weigh (48 cents an oz). 5.Pay.  I follow the directions place my bowl on the scale.  As soon as I get to the counter and set down my fro yo one of the employees slams down a damn tip jar! What in the world have you worked for? You stood your but behind the counter and didn't even offer a greeting when I entered! I was the only person in the store! Oh I forgot you gave me a spoon.  Which I could have gotten myself but I figure the owner does not want customers sampling the flavors without paying first since its $0.48 oz! So what I ask gives you the right to slam a tip jar in my face? Silence & stupid face. Cricket, cricket. . . 

Oh, but the yogurt was awesome! It was a different flavor but I had 5 different flavor plus chocolate, strawberries, toffee, malt balls and cheesecake bites.  If you are ever in Palm Beach Gardens Downtown area I would highly recommend trying this place out.  I would go back and plan on explaining to the yogurt guy how to work for tips.

90 Year Old Wisdom

One of the things I am blessed with is having the same birthday and my 90 year old great grandmother.  She imparted probably the best advice to me when I called to wish her a happy birthday.

"Whenever you have time or bored, spend time doing something you enjoy."  My response to her was, "I am going to make a list of all the things I enjoy.  Whenever, I have time or bored I can refer to my list." It doesn't have to be extravagant or outlandish.  It can be something as simple as reading.  Which I found out that she and I both enjoy doing.

So here is the list I started and I plan on referring to it often because life is short and I plan on living life more fully starting now. . .

What is on your list? 

The Fun Sister

So, I just realized 4 days before takeoff that I am heading to Vegas with the "Fun Sister"! My mother! My mother is the oldest of 5 possibly 6 siblings (more on that some other time).  It was brought to my attention while attending my Aunt's wedding that my mom likes to have fun.  However, as I look back on family vacations, family outings, and holidays, she was always trying to have fun.

Then as I got older she became more open and when I got married the "keep it sexy" advice started rolling in, much to my embarrassment.  (She mentioned that I become a member of the mile high club).  Now, she is trying to live her life and invited me to Vegas.

 

Well I am a huge fan of traveling and I now have the time to go and booked my ticket.  As I contemplate what we will do gambling, drinking, dancing, touring Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon, I realize that I need to make this a memorable event and see how "fun" she can be.  Who knows maybe she will get her first tattoo or piercing? I think a little nipple or nostril needs to be blinged out,  so my vote is on the piercing.

This might be a little overboard and scary?

Ohhh, the options! (No, I do not know this person)

I have been to Vegas before but as hubby and I talk kids I am on a quest to have as much fun before the kids arrive.  So this trip might be one for the books.  Do not wait on details because as the saying goes, "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas" and it will be honored.
